Just spoke with sweet_songbird at the bearshare main page chat and she told me to post this info here. There is a file in Bearshare named (suspiria) it is a backdoor trojan if you leave the setting at everything and type in that name you'll see about 20 files that are all corrupt. Just thought i'd let you all know the people that right these really need to grow up and if you do write a virus make it a challenge to get rid of not some weak thing. take 3 years to write it and then release it you idiots need to figure out what it is that brings you to write something that takes weeks and longer for what nothin, just like your existance theres no reason for it. argh sorry i just can't stand seeing someone taking that much time for nothing in return it's a waste of talent get out find a friend and live there are still people alive outside you know so stop being a mushroom and do something to be proud of.

If you right click on this file and select Bitzy you may be able too see what others have said about this file before you go to the hassle of downloading it. very often someone else has already reported it and you can save yourself a lot of time, if you have this file in your possesion then i would heartily reccomend downloading the Bit collider application and reporting this or any other fake, false and down right dangerous files you come across.

Um, BearShare doesn't have a virus - the idiot that doesn't have proper anti-virus protection and is sharing an infected file over the Gnutella network does.
If you download it without checking Bitzi (http://www.bearshare.com/help/bitzi.htm) first, and your resident anti-virus protection doesn't automatically pick it up and zap it, then you possibly deserve to be infected.
Why the fuss?

Malicious files are out there--just advise and remind everyone to check Bitzi before, scan after, and report the file to Bitzi if it's malicious.
Always feel free to add information to Bitzi about files you find, like quality, etc.

That's the "IRC/Backdoor.SdBot.LFI" trojan and I have already added that one to
the fullsize list. Today I added a few hundred more of those sites, but I'll try
"suspiria" and add it to the 44 other terms I use to catch it.
Adding this thing to Bitzi doesn't help a lot because it mutates it's zip file very
frequently. Just don't download any zip files that are exactly 178,861 bytes long. ;]

Oho! Here's another one using that name!
The worm "VB.FL" is 643,767 bytes long.
Looks like I'll have a few hundred more
addresses for the big list. :p
