Ever since I was a kid, I've had these things in my throat from time to time. Maybe I'll notice them once or twice a year. It feels exactly like some small food particle is trapped in your throat and it's hard as heck to get out. Turns out they are called tonsilloliths. They have several possible causes such as dead cells and food being trapped in the tonsils, but they seem to be harmless. I'm just glad to finally know what they are
Read more about them here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonsilloliths).

Well if you've had tonsils removed, I guess it's not a problem :D Although I read one claim to the contrary.
Otherwise anyone could have tonsilloliths, but you wouldn't know it unless there were obvious symptoms that caused discomfort. As I said, that only occurs for me once every few years, either they only form at certain times or they only dislodge at certain times. I always assumed it was tiny food particles that were somehow trapped in my throat - as that's what it feels like. On the spur of the moment I wanted to know if anyone else experienced this, and managed to find the right descriptive words, yielding a surprising number of google hits.
Obviously, it's fairly common.

Haha, I'm glad I've had no tonsils since I was 4. :D

Milk products can exarcerbate an excessive production of mucus and add load your immune system that it could do without. Given your other medical issues at present, consider alternatives such as soy products, even if it is only for the duration of treatment - your body will love you for it and you will starve those cancer cells of protein which they need in copious quantities to continue to pervade your system.

yep, milk was on the chopping block along with cheese, yogart, and ice cream
I stopped coughing so much. Imagine that.
I never understood what makes tonsils grow back.

Tonsils play a very important part in the immune system. In years to come people will find it offensive for medical practitioners to suggest they have them removed, similar to the way asbestos exposure is something that was not understood twenty years ago.
Sorry if I sound like you are predisposed to cancer invasion, but the clues keep coming out of the woodwork...

Well I could never do that. I love cheese, milk, ice cream, etc, waaaay too much to quit. Imagine, no milk products :( I'm getting sick just thinking about it. I'm gonna have a bowl of ice cream now to erase the thought.

I probably wouldn't be alive if I hadn't had them removed. They were enlarged to the point where I couldn't breath.

Earlier detection and treatment may be a better alternative than last minute extraction. I believe that advances in medical knowledge will show in time that this is the right course.

I had to have my daughter's removed eariler this year for the very same reason. Also, her hearing was reduced to where she was almost deaf.

Godamit! HB you have a special gift for pissing me right off.
Here I was constructing this wordy analysis of your post and how it proves what a psycho mess you are etc, but when i double checked the traits of an antisocial personality disorder I left you and your puny score in the dust.
So I thought this would make a far more interesting response.
Happy??
